The trick to warm hands is to avoid gloves that are too tight. Hestras are "over-sized" and leave ample enought lovely space for warm air. I've worn the traditional Hestra gloves for years and love them, but now I'm free to ski daily and to ski all day long at a resort with slow lifts and gloves were no longer keeping my hands warm enough. The "claw" mitten took some adjusting to and breaking in. I used the glove "goop" that came with the mittens to soften them up and improve the grip. Having the index finger free is enough to provide the dexterity to use my helmet and boot buckles well. I can ski open to close on a windy, cloudy, below zero day and my hands stay comfortable. Now I just wish there were Hestra's for my feet.
