Giro Union MIPS Ski Helmet - Lightweight Snowboard Helmet for Men, Women & Youth - Perfect for Skiing, Snowboarding & Winter Sports Safety

I started skiing when helmets weren't common. Now that I am getting back into it, I definitely wanted to consider my safety. This helmet fit the bill well for me, as it has MIPS and also was able to accommodate my large head size. I have a 24 7/8" head and the XL fit me well, even with my balaclava on, and easily could have gone larger with the size adjustment. I wear matte black in all my helmets, so I liked that it was an option. I wore this helmet in 15 degrees and also 48 degrees and felt comfortable both days with vents closed and open respectively. I'm sure there are more streamlined/lighter helmets but this was definitely a good purchase for me. I also got it cheaper ($84) as it was last years model, so keep that in mind.I don't wear headphones while I ski so I can't speak to that comfort, but it does have cut outs for speakers/ear buds. The goggle strap is just a bungee cord with a snap button but it worked well for me. I think I will get several good years of use from it.I took this out last week to Breckenridge. It kept my head warm and was comfortable. Protected my head on a couple falls.This is my first experience with a MIPS helmet. Not only is it very comfortable and lightweight, it’s adjustable to fit perfectly on my head. I also ordered skis from Dreamruns, they seem to have some of the best deals on snow gear I've found. Very satisfied customer.I like the safety features on this helmet but after a few uses I find that moisture tends to collector right under the front lip of the helmet. This was noticed when I periodically bend over to make adjustments to my snowboard and ski and I can see water dripping down. On my previous Giro helmet there were vents on the underside of the front lip and there are none on this new helmet. Otherwise very comfortable to wear and feel safer knowing this helmet has MIPS incorporated.Bought this helmet to replace a Giro G10 I bought back in 2008. It has similar, aggressive styling and identical ventilation. The added MIPS system is an excellent bonus at this very affordable price-point.A big improvement in comparison with previous versions.Item was of matchless quality. Packaging was outstanding. Sterling delivery. A++!My last helmet was a Giro and I loved it. Time to replace. This helmet fits perfectly everywhere except the ridiculous chin strap! Even on their website, Giro does not differentiate men’s from women’s helmets. This chin strap was way too long (for this 5’4” 130# woman), even with balaclava/neck gator under it. I could push the front brim entirely off my forehead. The clip at the base of the ear is the ONLY place where ANYTHING moves, and that only made a 1/4” difference at best. I’ve been wearing bike, horse and ski helmets for many, many years and I’ve never seen one where all usual points of adjustment are permanently anchored with cement, stitching etc. Giro really missed the boat on this massive design flaw. I hope people realize that the helmet does not fit safely if it does not STAY PUT over your forehead in a crash. I went with a Smith Mirage MIPS that I tried on in a store (but bought the color I could only find on Amazon). THANK YOU SMITH for designing for women as well and for the wonderfully adjustable chin strap!Bought this helmet over 12 months ago but didn’t use it until last week only to find it’s faulty. Contacted the seller who won’t refund, nor will the manufacturer. Outside of Amazon refund window too. Catch inside is cracked and I am unable to tighten to fit, which makes it unsafe and unfit for purpose. Poor quality - see pictures attached.Ich habe das Paket erhalten und ausgepackt.
