These hoods were individually shrink-wrapped in plastic, then double-bagged in plastic. Although I'm outraged by the complete unnecessary abuse of single-use plastics, I have to say these are very good fleece hoods. I have been wearing them for a couple of weeks now for my winter bicycle commute to work in Michigan, where we have snow and ice. I wear these new fleece hoods as a layering piece, over a thin silk balaclava, for extra warmth. Then on less cold days, I wear a fleece hood by itself. These new fleece hoods are not as long as my old ones, so I would plan to wear a high collar with it. But on the plus side, they have a flap in front that covers your face, but you can fold it down under your chin to get some air. And they have a kind of drawstring on each side to adjust the tightness of the face covering.Nice sizing, soft material. This item washes well without shrinkage (I washed in a laundry wash bag). Easy to use along with wearing a N95. It will keep you warm during the cold weather. Sent them back for refund. Cheaply made material.thin and cheapI just received these, very tightly packages. I haven't had a chance to wear them outside yet, but I did open all the individual plastic sleeves and examined each hood. Contrary to other reviews, they do not smell like motor oil. In fact, they have no scent at all. The seams are done in a fairly wide basting stitch and may need to be resewn in future, but with light use and gentle washing, they should be OK. All 3 hoods are exactly the same size. I may remove the adjustment cords because they are unsightly, and the hoods fit me alright as is. I think they well be very helpful in the cold weather.
